Here we return to Right Livelihood, not as a virtue for individuals, but something that cultivated societies can see as the civic virtue of the entire community. This is what I call “Techno-communitarianism.” Technology to foster the ability for communities to integrate their own interpretation of ethics and contemplative practice, through policy that protect human and ecological well-being. And this is aligned with many wisdom traditions, those institutions that nourish compassion and engagement.
