One big part is the way people in Taiwan use social media. For example, we’re probably one of the only jurisdictions where there’s not a lot of growth for TikTok or other recommendation engines that amplify outrage and division. In fact, I think we’re the largest segment on the Fediverse through the Threads platform. This means you can post on threads.net but you don’t have to reply on threads.net; you can consume that content anywhere. Basically, you choose your own garden instead of a walled garden. The Taiwanese people are the largest segment by daily active users on Threads.net compared to any other country, even though we’re just 23 million people.
