That environment of very high PPM makes authoritarianism very easy to exploit our differences. It used to be that we could take collective action against tyranny, against authoritarianism. But in a very high PPM environment, we are fractured into hundreds of small differences, making collective action very, very difficult. And that is the opposite of Right Livelihood. We may call it “Wrong Livelihood.” It strips people of agency. It erodes our attentiveness, our relationality, our embodied life. It widens the crack, not to let any light in, but deepen division.
