When I argue for EuroStack—green compute; data as a common good; open source; interoperability; data sovereignty—the question remains: who are our allies? We don’t want a protectionist wall around Europe. Sovereignty shouldn’t mean state isolation. Technological sovereignty must mean popular democratic sovereignty, built through global alliances with other democracies and non‑aligned countries that reject new digital empires. Are we still in time to do this—or are we giving in to a project that destroys democracy?
