Yeah, well, because it turns out that humor travels faster than outrage online. During the pandemic, especially on social media, people live in a very high “PPM” (polarization per minute) environment, and the fog makes it almost impossible to agree on something. But humor just cuts right through it. People, once they laugh about it, enjoy a moment of clarity, of relatively low PPM.
