Yeah, I was born with a heart defect, and that was quite formative. When I was around four, in ‘85, the doctors diagnosed me and told my parents that this child had a 50% chance to survive until surgery. And so, every night after that felt like, I don’t know, a coin toss or something. If it didn’t land well, I wouldn’t wake up. I learned very quickly that I don’t have time for perfection, and so I got into this habit of “publish before I perish,” which means that I recorded whatever I learned that day—first into cassette tapes and floppy disks, and finally the internet.
