Defensive technologies must be distributed because attack capabilities have become distributed. We call this concept “d/acc” (Defense-Decentralization-Democracy/Acceleration) because open dissemination in these areas doesn’t create weaponization effects—criminals already have these capabilities. So both security-focused and openness-focused individuals can invest in areas that can only be used defensively.
