Even if you have an idea and share it, if hundreds of thousands of people see or hear your idea, you don’t need to set up a broadcast station or printing press like in the past. Many of these works are what we call “commons”—infrastructure where initial capital investment means that those who want to communicate and create meaning on top of it need almost no capital to do so.
