Because here in America, you have people who argue that certain content is hate speech, even though there’s no such thing as hate speech legally because there’s no hate speech exemption as it relates to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It’s very subjective, and it’s become very political. You have people who now have a distorted understanding of what the First Amendment means, and there’s this widely held view that there is such a thing as hate speech, even though, according to the Supreme Court, there’s no such thing. The First Amendment does not protect incitement to violence or terroristic threats, but where would you draw the line regarding your system of creating shared-ground policies for content moderation?
