You’re right. What’s happened now is that, even though I would say there’s more free speech on Twitter 2.0 than we saw on Twitter 1.0, we do have echo chambers. People on the left, because of the polarizing election and because Elon Musk gave $270 million to support the presidential election for Donald Trump, are now all flocking to Bluesky. If you’re a conservative like I am and you go on Bluesky, you’re barely going to have an audience because social media now has divided itself into these echo chambers. X, of course, picked up a lot of support in the aftermath of Meta censoring so many people during the election. But now you’re seeing this rebrand effort—whether it’s genuine or not—by Mark Zuckerberg to try to rebrand Meta.
