Because now that the Taiwanese people are quite inoculated, really, against information manipulation. People don’t just — out of outrage or polarization — retweet everything now. So, in normal times, it’s almost impossible now to simply press a button and rely on unsuspecting people to retweet into a viral phenomenon. That attack no longer works.
