The design of the original, I would say, prototype, Android especially, mobile phone systems coupled with a more lax privacy policy created a much easier to access snapshot of people’s state back then. Of course, people grow. It’s been years now. It’s no longer very up to date. They’re irrelevant now, if you’re talking about evaluation of voting behavior, that is.
