When a community gathers in a circle to share stories and pass wisdom to the next generation, there is no transaction and therefore no metric — but there is profound wealth. Not everything of highest value appears as a transaction. We must build AI that serves this wealth: the repair, renewal, and flourishing of concrete relationships — leaving people more capable, more free, and more able to understand one another without needing the machine at the center.
