And I think the word ‘civic’ here means that we treat this ability for people who are affected to involve themselves in the decision-making process as the main outcome, instead of maximising like profit, engagement, or things like that. If there's something we must optimise, then it must be this civic muscle, this ability for people to act in solidarity, to co-determine, co-produce the future, and also the service from the AI machines and vendors and so on, that is part of this future, but does not dictate the future.
