In that moment, the demands of XR included a citizen’s assembly on climate policy. They wanted that assembly to be legally binding by 2035 for how Britain would reach net zero. I won’t go into the detail, but a citizens’ assembly was commissioned in the UK—not many people even know this, which illustrates my point.
