We’re critiquing an information system shaped by a “bro‑oligarchy” of cisgender white men in the global north, many in San Francisco. Cis‑hetero patriarchy has been imposed globally through settler colonialism and racial capitalism. That’s how we arrived at datified control and the privatization of free software, our personal data, and planetary creative labor. If the theme of MozFest is unlearn, we must unlearn the gender system imposed on us and understand how it intersects with racial capitalism to produce the AI firms we’re fighting.
