Yes, it is. For example, one of the things that my group makes is the deep neural networks that look at photos and analyze what’s in them, and these algorithms are able to tag the contents of the photos.
This is a capability that is very, very new in computer science. Three years ago, four years ago, it was impossible saying things like, "This is a girl holding a kitten on a sofa," something like this.
The interesting thing about those algorithms is that the neural networks that do this are small enough and fast enough, now, that they can fit on the device. That means, for example, that when you take photos, they can be tagged on your phone without you having to first to upload them.
